Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 Slated for Late July Launch

Rumor has it that ASUS will be announcing the Eee Pad Transformer TF101 in the last week of July, or probably early August. The Transformer will compete mainly with the Acer ICONIA A500 and the Motorola Xoom, since all three pack in roughly the same hardware and features.

The Transformer is a 10.1-inch tablet running NVIDIA's Tegra 2 CPU. The best part about the transformer is when it's docked in the keyboard, it looks just like a notebook so the screen can be protected, as well. We had reported earlier about a possible June 2011 release, but seeing July is right around the corner, we don’t think that’s likely.

There's no info on the pricing yet, though. We tried confirming this with ASUS, but weren’t able to get through to the concerned person. The tablet scene is really heating up with major players launching thier own version and hoping to capture a tiny bit of the market share from Apple. One thing I've noticed is that the term 'iPad Killer' finally seems to be dying out, which is a relief.
